I was recently given the opportunity to test out the lodge cast iron charcoal grill.

The lodge cast iron charcoal grill is the most durable hibachi grill i have ever owned in my life.. seriously!


Here's what I liked about it: THE PROS-


Let me ask you a question.. have you ever cooked on a grill which evenly heats? Well this small cast iron grill does just that.


I use this cast iron charcoal grill  for..


* Picnics..


* Family outings..


* Tailgate parties and..


* At home.


Even the cooking grate is made from cast iron. Do you know what that means my friend?

Well it means it heats slowly, but holds heat for long periods of time which makes it a better cooking choice over steel grates any day.


The grills cooking surface is large.. 17-1/4 by 9 inches to be exact. Oh, did i mention it comes pre seasoned.

A cool feature is the draft door which controls heat.


My cast iron charcoal grill is versatile also. Im able to switch from..


* Frying to..


* Grilling with ease.


The lodge cast iron charcoal grill includes..


* 4 strong legs..


* A carrying handle which is more useful than you may think..


* A design which provides easy cleaning, just make sure you have a stiff brush and hot water to work with.


* A limited lifetime warranty which i simply love..


* And also provides me room to cook 6 large burgers, 8 large chicken breast or, 2 packs of large hot dogs, or 2 large slabs of ribs (i tired it all lol).


What I didn't like about it: THE CONS-


Im not going to lie, this thing weighs in at around 35 pounds.. but what would you expect from a lodge cast iron hibachi.. huh?

Im pretty sure you have owned one of those cheap, off brand cast aluminum hibachi grills which just seem to fall apart after hard use lol.


THE VERDICT:


The good news is that this lodge cast iron charcoal grill may out last me, as you should know cast iron is good for up to 100 years of use.

What i like to do is get my coals ready, spray the cooking grate with my favorite cooking spray and start cooking.


Since this grill retains heat like a monster, cooking times may be a bit fast than you may expect.
